The Elves, knowing Humans to be weak-willed, fled to them seeking shelter. They were defeated so readily that all they could do was admire the fine stonework of fully manned fortresses as they perished. Their craven leaders soon abandoned them and retreated to the Feywild from whence they came, never to be seen again.Īs predicted by the esteemed Dwarven leaders, the duplicitous Humans attempted to use this distraction to launch an attack on Dwarf lands. The Elves, who had long drawn the ire of the Dwarves with their misguided sense of superiority, lamented their hubris as their lands fell swiftly to the mechanical legions. Together, through the combined might, intelligence and guile of the Dwarven race they created living constructs machines in the form of men. The Miners dug deep the Smiths’ forges burned bright the Artificers tinkered the Enchanters cast their spells and all the while the noble Leaders of the three families formed their plans.

The Dwarves however, in their infinite wisdom, knew that the land could never reach its true potential unless it was united under their magnanimous rule and so their brightest minds came up with a solution. Thus a stalemate was reached and over time an uneasy alliance was formed. The three races were ever at odds, yet none could act on their rivalry for fear of reprisal from the third. "Once upon a time, there were three kingdoms the stalwart Dwarves, the haughty Elves and the promiscuous Humans. As such, nearly every educated man, woman or child in the Empire will have read "Auntie" Alice's version of the tale.
